Race day
Who is playing at COTA during the 2026 US Grand Prix?
The short answer: Post Malone headlines Saturday night (October 24) on the Germania Insurance Super Stage, Maroon 5 headlines Friday night (October 23), and Alesso plays the post-race show Sunday (October 25) at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater — and per COTA, every race ticket includes all three. A daytime lineup called The American Soundtrack fills the rest of the weekend. Details below are from COTA's official lineup page, checked October 2026.
The headliners
- Friday, October 23 — Maroon 5, Germania Insurance Super Stage, after the day's practice sessions.
- Saturday, October 24 — Post Malone, Germania Insurance Super Stage. This is the big one — and the evening is longer than the qualifying session suggests. Qualifying runs 4:00–5:00 PM Central, and the track stays hot after it: the day's last session, the F1 Academy reverse-grid race, runs 6:00–6:35 PM (the Porsche Carrera Cup's first race is earlier in the day, 2:35–3:15 PM, per the series' current official schedule), so on-track action ends around 6:35 PM. COTA has not published a clock time for the headliner sets; its own schedule lists the show as approximately 90 minutes after track activity ends, and the Festival Lawn gates open about 1.5 hours after on-track activity ends.
- Sunday, October 25 — Alesso, Germania Insurance Amphitheater, as the post-race show after the Grand Prix — scheduled for 5:30 PM on COTA's official schedule.
The weekend's official name this year is the Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix 2026 — the name you'll see on the stage branding and your tickets.
The American Soundtrack: daytime music all weekend
Between sessions, COTA runs a daytime program of mostly Texas acts on two stages — La Cantina and The Ranch. The official schedule (COTA notes schedules are subject to change):
- Friday: Mariachi Voz de Pasión (10:15 AM, La Cantina) · BARTLY (10:15 AM, The Ranch) · Grupo Morros (11:30 AM, La Cantina) · Restos (11:30 AM, The Ranch) · Los Alcos (2:30 PM, La Cantina) · Jennifer Foster & the Audacity (2:30 PM, The Ranch)
- Saturday: Midnight Navy (10:30 AM, La Cantina) · Monica Valli (10:30 AM, The Ranch) · Andrea Daniela (1:45 PM, La Cantina) · Mayeux & Broussard (1:45 PM, The Ranch) · Carrie Rodriguez (5:15 PM, La Cantina) · Next of Kin (5:15 PM, The Ranch)
- Sunday: lluvii (10:00 AM, La Cantina) · LeTrainiump (10:00 AM, The Ranch) · SANA SANA MUSICA (12:30 PM, La Cantina) · Moving Panoramas (12:30 PM, The Ranch) · Gina Chavez (1:45 PM, La Cantina) · Nakia & the Never Not Now (1:45 PM, The Ranch)
DJs are also posted around the grounds — DJ Raquiqui near F1 Academy, DJ Squibs in Lonestar Land, and Mixer Rogers in the Paddock area. The Saturday 5:15 PM sets are worth knowing about: they start right as qualifying ends, so the music never really stops between the shootout and the Post Malone show.
Is it included in your ticket?
- Yes — included. In COTA's words: "Each race ticket includes access to the Germania Insurance Super Stage for concerts on Friday (Maroon 5), October 23, and Saturday (Post Malone), October 24, as well as the post-race performance at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater on Sunday (Alesso), October 25." GA, grandstand, any race ticket. One refinement from COTA's Know Before You Go page (checked October 20, 2026): Festival Lawn access is described there as coming with a COTA-purchased USGP ticket — if you bought through another seller, COTA says to confirm concert access with your seller.
- Upgrades are optional and about proximity, not admission: COTA sells a Concert Floor Upgrade (standing room in front of the stage) and reserved concert seating. You must hold a race ticket to buy one — there is no standalone concert-only ticket.
- So the real cost of the concerts is $0 beyond the ticket you already have — which makes skipping them the most expensive option on the menu, as the next section explains.
The real decision: stay for the show, or beat the exodus?
This site's standing advice is that the concert is a traffic strategy, not just entertainment — and 2026 is the year it pays off twice:
- Saturday — pick your crowd. Leave when qualifying ends (5:00 PM) and you exit with the qualifying crowd, at the day's peak. Stay, and you leave with the concert crowd instead: later, smaller, and moving — after the support races (to ~6:35 PM), the concert, and two-plus hours of lot drain. The trade is not show-vs-no-show; it's which exit wave you want to be in.
- Sunday — pick one of three. The Alesso set, the post-race track walk, and the first wave out of the lots all happen in the same post-race hour. You cannot do the show and beat the traffic, and you cannot do both the show and the track walk. If the exodus is your enemy, the show wins it for you: every song is traffic you're not sitting in. If walking the track is your ritual, skip Alesso and take the calm late exit instead.
- Shuttle riders: official return shuttles on Friday and Saturday run until 60 minutes after the music stops — COTA literally times the buses to the concert. How the shuttle system works →
